Angola, Mozambique parliaments assess cooperation

Luanda 16/12/09- The secretaries general of the Parliaments of Angola and Mozambique considered as positive the implementation of the 2007 cooperation protocol between the two institutions, Angop learnt.

Signed on November 27, 2007, the agreement for 2007/2009 period defines a series of actions intended to reinforce the constitutional capacity of the administrative services of the two parliaments in the domains of public relations, protocol and international relations.

According to a National Assembly’s report that reached Angop, the instrument also mentions as a priority the cooperation in the fields of administration of human resources and finances.

The source also mentioned to the administration of heritage, parliamentary support and juridical advisory, as well as documentation, information and information technologies.

As expected, the five domains defined in the programme of cooperation were implemented through the alternately training actions held in workshops in Angola and Mozambique.

The signatory parliamentary administrations concluded that the actions carried out in the framework of the cooperation protocol have positively contributed to the strengthening of powers and skills of the officials and the consolidation of institutional, functional and interpersonal relations.

In the face of positive results, the parties recommended the renewal of the cooperation programme of the juridical instrument for the 2010/2011 period.
