Luanda 13/12/09 – The governments of Angola and USA are signing Monday in Luanda an accord that sets the terms of reference for the establishment in the country of a resident consultant of the US Treasury Department, Angop learnt.
According to a press note from the US Embassy in Luanda, the accord will be signed by the Angolan Finance minister, Severim de Morais, and by the US ambassador to Angola, Dan Mozena, in the presence of Government officials from both countries.
In Angola, the US expert will work with the Ministry of Finance and with Angolan Reserve Bank (BNA), to support the efforts of the country towards improving its system of issuing of bonds and management of debt.
The resident consultant, who will be on duty for two to five-year terms, will be based on the experience of the US financial sector and international market.
According to the press release, this technical support will enable Angola to define and implement the structure of the debt management that the Government considers to be most suitable.
The US Government provides this kind of technical aid to many countries and this broad consultancy has been proved as very useful as long as the countries develop and strengthen their market economy.
