Dundo 21/08/09- A farming fair will be held in September this year in Xá-Muteba district, north-eastern Lunda Norte province, intended to promote farming activity in the region.
This was announced Wednesday in Dundo city by the vice governor for technical area, Maria da Conceiçăo Cazuázua.
Maria Cazuázua said that with this action, the provincial Government intends to reverse the dependence of the local economy based on diamond, thus encouraging small producers and cattle breeders into a major commitment to large scale production.
The fair will count on support of the provincial governments of Huila, Huambo, Cunene, Malanje, Benguela, Kwanza Sul, Moxico and Lunda Sul, due to their experience in the events of the kind.
Xá-Muteba district is located about 500 kilometres south of Dundo, the provincial capital.
