Lubango 17/8/09 – The Agro-farming and Industrial Association of southern Huila province (Aapcil) intends to transform Expo/Huila into a fair that exhibits the national production.
This was said Sunday in Lubango, by Aapcil chairman, António de Lemos.
Speaking at the closing of the event that gathered 141 companies, 99 percent of which locals, António de Lemos said the institution he leads will transform Expo/Huíla into a national production fair, as the organisation that represents these interests has ceased existence.
"For this reason, we want to take this responsibility, bringing to Huila all national business people and hold the national fair here, as there is need for the expansion of reserved for the exhibition pavilions”, he stressed.
António de Lemos said as well that one of the purposes of the association is to turn Expo/Huila reserved space into a profitable place through hosting other events of economic nature during the year.
In his turn, the provincial governor, Isaac dos Anjos, spoke of the need to expand local production into the regional market, where there are about 200 million consumers.
With a business volume estimated at Usd 1.5 million, the event awarded attending participants and companies its symbol.
For over five days, the fair was visited by more than 300,000 people, most of whom seeking new business opportunities.
Expo/Huíla is an event that usually take place in August every years.
