UNACA recommends farming production boost

Luanda 21/7/09 - Unaca-Confederation of Peasants Associations and Farming Co-operatives of Angola Monday here recommended the increasing of farming production and outputs, during its IV ordinary assembly aimed at assessing the activities.

At the end of the meeting, the 96 delegates from the country's 18 provinces also recommended to continuing encouraging the peasants in order to diversify their production and creation of small animal, birds, honey production and improve the diet of population.

According to the participants, the peasants were briefed on the new mechanisms related to the grant of credits approved by the government, estimated at USD 350 million, with view to increase the number of beneficiaries and the amount to be attributed to each.

The one-day event served to discuss and present the report of the previous meeting, analysis and approval of the report of balance from the confederation's executive-board.
