Governmental strategy for commerce diversification highlighted
Luanda 20/7/09- The strategy outlined by the government for the diversification of the economy and the institutional aid that the executive provides to small and medium producers, contribute to the increase of the trade in agricultural products and the investments in farming activities.
This was said Sunday in Luanda by businessman Luis André, an official with the Novagro firm, which deals in the commercialisation of agricultural products, material and equipment.
Speaking to ANGOP, the mentioned source said that due to this initiative the search for products and services of the sector has increased.
Luis Andrade also highlighted the fact that the government’s material and institutional actions towards the materialisation of diversification of economy, that has the farming sector as a starting point, provided the interest of new people and private firms in participating and developing agriculture and cattle breeding.
"The government goal to diversify the economy has caused many people, with little experience in agriculture and cattle-breeding, to resort to Novagro shops to buy our products and get explanations on how to start a business", he said.
According to him, in matters of partnership, Novagro works with the Institute of Agrarian Development (IDA), that provides seeds, fertilisers and work tools, as well as technical assistance to peasant families.
Created in 2001, the firm works in Luanda, Kwanza-Sul, Huambo and Benguela provinces.
