Luanda 7/9/09 - The Export Development Canada has made available a thousand million us dollars credit line to facilitate trade exchange between Angola and Canada, the canadian ambassador to Angola, Barbara Richardson, revealed today.
She was addressing a seminar on "Doing Business in Africa". co-organized by the Canadian Council for Africa and the Canadian Office for External Affairs and International Commerce.
According to Barbara Richardson canadian exports to Angola rised to over 177millions while the amount of bilateral trade is now over 2,5 billions.
"Trade between the two countries are dominated by the tramsforming and extractive industry, foodstuffs and engeneering services" - she said considering Angola one of Canada's major trade partners in Africa.
She said that the two countries are cementing a strong and lasting trade relaionship, adding that the visit of the canadian trade mission is aimed at streghtening bilateral trade and promote investments.
