Sixth edition of ConstroiAngola fair closes

Luanda 10/20/08 – The handing over of crystal statuettes to the seven best exhibitors marked on Sunday, in Luanda, the closing ceremony of the sixth edition of the ConstróiAngola fair, an event that was attended by 253 firms, amongst national and foreign.

According to one of the organisers of the fair, Bruno Albernaz, who was speaking during the closing session, ConstroiAngola was capable of showing Angola’s potential in the civil engineering sector, taking into account the investments made and the volume of business participations obtained.

He said he expects that, due to the results obtained in this edition, businessmen can intensify their activities countrywide and contribute in order for Angola to soon overcome the difficulties it faces in this field.

“There are various challenges and we hope that everyone corresponds and takes advantage of the opportunity presented by ConstróiAngola so as to intensify their businesses, considering that apart from eying profits, everyone should work for the country’s development”, referred Bruno Albernaz.

In another subject and taking into account the fair’s interest, during its opening ceremony, the Angolan Industry minister, Joaquim David, considered relevant the holding of the 6th edition of the International Fair of Civil Engineering, Public Works and Safety, since it meeting meets the demands of greater insertion of construction materials in the local market.

The official said that the fair happens at a period of particular importance for the country, in spite of the financial crisis in some countries of the world. Angola lives a phase of high economic growth, a sign of the peace lived in the country.

According to the organising body, 60 percent of participant firms were Angolan, followed by Portugal, with the highest presence of foreign companies.
