Chevron Expects Daily Oil Production of 620,000 Barrels in 2009

Luanda 10/8/08 – The USA multinational oil company intends to increase to 620,000 barrels per day by the end of 2009 its oil production when the Tombwa/Landana line starts operating, whose production will be of 100,000, informed Monday here the advisor of the operations department for blocks zero and 14, Cesaltino Pedro.

Speaking to ANGOP on the fringes of the “III workshop on the oil industry”, the advisor said that at least US one billion has been invested for the implementation of the Tombwa/Landana project, within block 14, so as to increase the current 520,000 barrels produced daily.

According to the advisor, the investments in the construction of platforms, researches and the upgrading of working groups are complete and the structures have also been built, and the firm is only waiting its arrival and installing in Angola by late this year.

Chevron has been carrying out regular training for its Angolan manpower, from which 88 percent is comprised by Angolans and 75 of these in decision-making posts in projects.
