Over One Million US Dollars Spent in "Waku" Milk Production
Luanda 9/27/08 – USD 1.5 million is the amount released by Angola’s diary company "Lactiangol" for the establishment of “Waku” milk production line.
This was said Friday in Luanda by the chairperson of the Organisation's managing board, José César Macedo.
Speaking to journalist on the fringes of the launch of Waku milk, José César Macedo. who is also director general of the company, said that it has to do with the investment made, with the resources being applied for training of staff, with a view to providing the population with a better quality product.
The institution counts, at the moment, on the supply of the cattle breeding of Aldeia Nova project estimated at 10,000 litres per day (about 300,000/month), said the official.
According to José César Macedo, the institution's goal is to attain 10,000 litres, according to existing cattle, although this can change along the year, as the cows will reproduce and there will be more production. The initial production was estimated at 3,000 litres per day.
The diary company has been distributing the Waku milk on experimental basis since April, said the source, who pledged that as from Saturday the shops "Nosso Super", Jumbo, Intermarket, Martal will start receiving the product.
