Angola at International Co-operative Business Fair
Luanda 09/10 - An Angolan delegation led by the chairman of the Confederation of Angolan Farmers Union (UNACA), Paulo Uime, will attend from next October 23 to 25 in the city of Lisbon, Portugal, the first International Co-operative Business Trade Fair.
Speaking to ANGOP on Tuesday here, the official referred that the event will be hosted by the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) and aims at promoting the generation and growth of the volume of co-operative businesses, as well as the expansion and practice of inter co-operativism through strategic alliances.
Paulo Uime added that the fair will also foresee trade development through the promotion of economic policies, professional updating, business opportunities, access to new technologies and the strengthening of contacts network.
The source stated that it also includes, among other goals of the official underlined that it also includes, among other objectives of the cooperative stock exchange, the creation of economic tools so that products and co-operative services can compete worldwide, as well as yielding positive financial results, time optimisation and reduction of costs of sales.
“ICAExpo08” shall be divided into five sectors with a world pavilion and four continental pavilions, which will be represented by segments of foodstuffs, beverages, fruits, craft arts, goods, technology, service and employment, among other industrialised products.
The first international exhibition of this kind will take place at the Lisbon International Fair (FIL), with the institutional support of Portuguese institutions such as the Foreign Investment and Trade Agency of Portugal (AICEP) and the Portuguese António Sérgio Institute of the Co-operative Sector (Inscoop).
The International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) is a non-governmental Co-operative Federation or, more precisely, a co-operative union representing co-operatives and the co-operative movement worldwide. It was founded in London, England, in 1895, and its headquarters is located in Geneva, Switzerland.
